Born in New York City in 1972 to Cuban émigré parents, raised in South Florida under the influence of Cuban art in Miami. LEBO’s formal arts training began at Florida International University in Miami and further culminated his talents during his residency at the International Museum of Cartoon Art in Boca Raton, Florida lecturing on the practical and technical approaches to illustration.
LEBO’s artistic success was confirmed in 1996 at through his first public exhibition of canvas at Johnson & Wales University in North Miami. He’s since participated in solo and group exhibitions at alternative art spaces and musical venues displaying his talent as one of Miami’s beloved and predominant muralists. His work has been shown in galleries worldwide including Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Toronto, South Africa, Swaziland, Germany and Italy. LEBO”s murals and site-specific installations for commercial spaces have energized communities such as Miami’s Calle Ocho, Uptown New Orleans and San Francisco’s French Quarter.
LEBO’s aesthetic influences are broad and diverse with his reflection in editorial cartoons, film animations, textbook illustrations, telescopic and biological imagery, and an artistic movement among renowned naturalists and architects.
